Terrey Hills is a testing championship venue, and now hosts many Golf NSW and Australian Amateur events earning the respect of golfing bodies around Australia.

A private club in every sense of the word – Terrey Hills boasts a limited membership of 750 who’re lucky enough to access its secluded and stunning bushland setting. It’s hard to believe it’s only a stone’s throw from the city centre – a truly special course for a global city such as Sydney.

A leading tournament venue, Concord’s hosted a number of championship tournaments including the Australian PGA, the NSW Open, the ANZ Championship and the Australian Women’s Open.

Centrally located in the Inner West of Sydney, Concord’s challenging and superbly-presented championship course, classic clubhouse and beautifully manicured gardens make it one of the most respected in the country.

Course designer James Wilcher described it as, ‘one of the most spectacular golf courses that will test the skill and emotions of those lucky enough to play it’.

With the Pacific Ocean on one side, Tuggerah Lakes on the other and Wyrrabalong National Park to the north, every hole offers stunning ocean and bushland views.

Opened in 2006, it was the spectacular location that inspired the Ross Watson designed course.

‘I have been waiting for a site like this since I first began designing golf courses 30 odd years ago,’ Watson said.

‘With its rolling landscape, coastal dunes and tranquil National Park, it was the ideal “canvas” on which to create a truly sensational course – one which will appeal to golfers of all levels.’

Built on a deep sand base and shaped in the spirit of the famous Scottish Links courses, golfers will need to use their imagination and every club in the bag to excel at Magenta Shores.

The Club has a proud professional golfing history having played host to several tournaments including the 1982 NSW PGA Championship won by Frank Nobilo, the 1987 U-Bix Classic won by Peter Senior, while Greg Norman played an exhibition round in 1979. In more recent times, Federal hosted the 2014 Interstate Championships.

The course also features the annual Federal Amateur Open Championship, a world amateur golf ranking event that continues to attract the country’s brightest amateur talents. In 2005, Jason Day finished runner up to Andrew Martin. In 2008, Victor Dubuisson also finished as a runner up to Matt Jager. An event for juniors accompanies the main tournament and attracts players of similar calibre, some of them barely into their teens.

The golf course is complemented by a welcoming clubhouse with a comprehensive range of hospitality services. Federal is considered Canberra’s best kept secret when considering wedding venue destinations with an events team to oversee all elements of corporate golf, private functions and business seminars.

From conception and construction, through to its day-to-day operations, the Hamilton Island Golf Club is strongly committed to preserving the pristine environment of the world’s largest protected marine area – the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

The island’s natural and rugged beauty, together with its mountainous terrain affords stunning 360 degree views across secluded coves and beaches to adjacent islands and the mainland beyond.

The stunning Chris Beckingham-designed clubhouse is ideally perched to catch the soft sea breeze and to take in the stunning views of Passage Peak and the sparkling Coral Sea. The clubhouse offers a stylishly relaxed restaurant and bar, along with a well-stocked pro shop and ladies and mens locker rooms including showers. The staff can assist with a variety of services including bookings, rental clubs, on-course refreshments and comprehensive expert tuition to help fine-tune your game.

Getting to Hamilton Island is easy; it’s the only island in the Whitsundays with a commercial airport. There are direct flights from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Cairns and simple connections from other major Australian cities. Once on Hamilton Island, Dent Island is just a short ferry ride from the Hamilton Island Marina.

Among the big events played on the course are the 1967 Australian Open, which local player Peter Thomson won by seven shots, and the 2010 and 2011 Women’s Australian Open, both won by Yani Tseng of Taiwan.

The Club has also been included in Tom Doak’s list of 31 courses ‘among the first I would take a good friend to see’. He said that…

In 2008 Huntingdale celebrated its 30th consecutive year of hosting the Australian Masters and is justifiably recognised as the ‘Home of the Australian Masters’.

Huntingdale’s golf affiliations go back to 1896, when Surrey Hills Golf Club was established. The Club prospered until 1914, when it disbanded on the outbreak of the First World War. By 1941, after moving from the Surrey Hills site, to Canterbury Road in Box Hill then Doncaster Road, Doncaster, club members elected to move into the Sandbelt region, and onto land previously used for coursing by the Melbourne Hunt Club. When the course re-opened in 1941, it took the name Huntingdale Golf Club.
