Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club

Located within the five-star Pullman Magenta Shores Resort, 90 minutes from Sydney and an hour from Newcastle, Magenta Shores is the only private golf course on New South Wales’ Central Coast.

With the Pacific Ocean on one side, Tuggerah Lakes on the other and Wyrrabalong National Park to the north, every hole offers stunning ocean and bushland views.

Opened in 2006, it was the spectacular location that inspired the Ross Watson designed course.

‘I have been waiting for a site like this since I first began designing golf courses 30 odd years ago,’ Watson said.

‘With its rolling landscape, coastal dunes and tranquil National Park, it was the ideal “canvas” on which to create a truly sensational course – one which will appeal to golfers of all levels.’

Built on a deep sand base and shaped in the spirit of the famous Scottish Links courses, golfers will need to use their imagination and every club in the bag to excel at Magenta Shores.

From the back tees, the 72 par course stretches to around 6,300 metres and presents a test for the most gifted if desired, and an enjoyable game for players of all levels.

The course is ranked in the Top 10 in New South Wales and sits at number 23 of Australia’s top 100 golf courses, according to Australian Golf Digest. It played host to The Pullman Magenta Shores Resort Pro-Am 2017 and regularly hosts initiatives such as par 3 and par 9 competitions.

Alongside its 18 holes, Magenta Shores is home to a clubhouse, restaurant, bar, a pro shop, driving range, putting greens and the adjoining five-star Pullman Magenta Shores Resort with its accommodation, spa, conference facilities and three pools.

PGA of Australia Life Member, Ron Luxton said, ‘The Australian and Royal Sydney are where I spent a big part of my life as a golf professional and are naturally two of my favourite courses. Magenta Shores, up on the NSW Central Coast is another favourite.’
